Fleetwood Mac and Lemonade

The only thing that has ever been constant in my life, is my back bone. My rudder that steers me forward is fueled by integrity alone. I am not sure where that comes from. Ever since I was a small child, I often felt lonely. I was always smarter than the adults around me, but I kept it to myself, mostly. I kept myself company in the back seat of the cars that changed with the seasons, or her boyfriends, or her husbands. I was anxious, but I was happy. It is difficult being so little and housing such big emotions. It got heavy, but I got strong. And I would memorize lyrics to songs, every single one felt like it was written for me. You learn a lot staring out a moving window, wind in my hair, sun on my face. I am still that same girl carrying all that weight, moving forward, just trying to navigate.
